Half-day Retreat. Combining two practices. 9-12 am - Saturday morning.
First Session. Archery with Mark VanSessen Marine Veteran and Archery Instructor.
Archery is a form of meditation that requires concentration, focus and awareness to connect the mind and body to the present moment. The repetitive nature of drawing the bow and releasing arrows, combined with the need for concentration on the target, can help clear the mind of distractions and offer a relaxing experience to the participants. Mark will review safety protocols and fit you with the appropriate bow and arrows for this practice. All experience levels welcome. Session will be approximately 9-10:30.
Second Session. Forest Bathing with Ron VanSessen, Sylvotherapy Practitioner.
Shinrin-Yoku: The practice of immersing oneself in nature for relaxation isn’t new. The practice of shinrin-yoku originated and was named in Japan in the early 1980s, popularized as a process for disconnecting from technology to relax and unwind. Decades of research and recent studies indicate being mindfully immersed in a forest likely has amazing health and well-being benefits.
Join us for this half-day Collaboration with two of our founding members and Wellness Advocate Experts. Snacks and refreshments included. Participants must be 18 or older.
